If you plan on wearing your boots for long periods of time, you may want to consider making a pair of socks as well using similar materials and techniques.If you're having trouble getting them on and off, try cutting a slit from the top to the bottom of your boot covers to make them easier to pull on and off.For faux leather boots, you'll need to make a second run of stitching on the inside of your boot cover along where you sewed it together at the beginning to ensure they will stay up over your calves.For long boots, you will generally need to add about one-third of the boot circumference at the ankle to the length you measured in step 1.If the boot is thick enough, you can use this as a guide when marking your sewing points in step 9 above.
